"TUT''
Why I started.
I grew up outside of Chicago. My grandmother was from Aberdeen MS. Affectionally known as "Tut". She was an incredible cook. I remember the smell of her sweet potatoes roasting or boiling in that hot kitchen. I knew early on that I wanted to continue in her footsteps. My favorite of hers was her sweet potato pie, neckbones, and fried corn. Shortly before she passed on, I called her to ask her for her recipe. I had already been making my own version of her pies. I told her my recipe and she informed me that she thought it sounded amazing.
I decided to incorporate both together! My sweet potato pies are a culmination of her recipe with my added touches. She would be so proud. I miss her dearly and would be honored for you to experienced some of what I did growing up. All I ask while eating my pies or any of my sweet potato products is that you go slow. Get every seasoning. My grandmother did everything slow. Eat it slow and savor the taste and the love.
Cheers Granny.
